Frequently Asked Questions
What is your virtual estimating system, and how does it work?
First we gather your information…name, address, phone number etc,. Next, we ask you for detailed information about your project, maybe even a picture or two. We then use all of the latest technology to research your home on line. We use websites like Zillow and Redfin to determine square footage, how many bedrooms and bathrooms, the year your home was built etc. We also use Google earth street view and satellite to get a good idea of what your property looks like. After we have determined the estimate for your project we email you your proposal (usually within 72 hours). Once you have gathered your other estimates and decide that our proposal just might be the one you like, we can then schedule an in person meeting at your property to discuss the final details and specifications.
What happens after we decide to hire Royall Painting to be our contractor?
First, we schedule a meeting at you property to discuss colors, various specifics and scheduling. Next, we sign the contract and get started! We have a job site manager that will be on your property through the duration of your project. The job site manager is in charge of all employees as well as daily check ins and progress reports that will be communicated directly to you, the customer (you will always be “in the loop”). After your project is complete, you and the job site manager will do a thorough inspection of your property to be sure that everything is to your complete satisfaction.
What can we expect while we are having our interior/exterior painted?
We always do our best to minimize the impact that a job like painting can have on your living situation. For most exteriors, we ask that you be prepared to have masking plastic on your windows as well as drop cloths spread out along your property for about a week. We always take down all of our ladders and clean up any small tools at the end of every day. As for interiors, we are always very careful to protect everything from your floors to your furniture. We normally ask that you remove small items from the rooms that will be painted on a particular day. We usually try to finish a room the day that we start it, but sometimes you can expect to have a room “unusable” for a day or more. We always do our best to put your home “back together” the way we found it. It is always our goal leave your house cleaner then when we started!
What kind of paint do you use?
We use Sherwin Williams paints exclusively (unless we are touching up or it is necessary to continue with the same paint that has already been used). After years of trial and error, we can safely say that Sherwin Williams offers the best and most comprehensive line of paints available. When it comes to your home, you can rest assured that we will always use low or zero VOC environmentally friendly paints.
